Hello again,
Shot number two in the longhouse. in this one I wanted the focus to be on the light streak and the top of the corn which eneded up been backlit. You can see the texture of the smoke better and "i" think that the dark image add a bit of mistery. Compare to the other one I'm hoping this one has a more obvious "subject" matter.
Shot with Olympus OEM1 Mk II at 15mm, 1/100 sec F2.8 ISO 1000
Let me know what you think and if you think it is worthy of going to curation or not. (I know I know... no garantee here)
Thanks a million
Pierre,
I should remove the light right below. Easy to do with the quick retouch pencil with small steps. Than I should make a duplicate layer and pull right below to straight the window. And play a little bit with the light left above and right below.
My suggestion below.

Theo... thank you for your critique and yes this is a good idea as it brings the focus on the single light beam and the backlit corn. Thank you.
Hello, Pierre
Welcome back. Well, I have mixed tgoughts. I agree with you that the dark part adds mystery. Then I should add that you should definitely consider Theo's suggestion. The one beam is quite sufficient to light the image and to attract attention. Howeveri had the beam hit the lower part or had it hit it wider with the stalk and the corn it would have made a much better subject. The corn is still to dark. That is my interpretation though. I tried to demonstrate this below. I increased the beam and added some dehase and exposure. I reduced the highlights slightly in the beam. Then I selected the background and darkened, desaturated and dehazed it. This is the result. Have good light. Çiçek...

Cicek... thank you for your suggestion. I like the corn been brighter but I think I need to insure that the streak of light matches the edge of the highlight. I'll see what I can do about that. De-saturating the background revomes ever so sligthly the hint of brown in the blackned corn. I'll play around with the photo some more and see where that gets me. Thank you again and I love your portraits of every day people and still life in you portfolio BTW. You seem to have developed a talent to bring the beauty in everyone.
